What if I want to have a special event at a park like a walk-a-thon or a fundraiser?: You must complete a park application that can be found here on our website, or call the Recreation Center at (208) 612-8580 and we will e-mail you the form. Once the form is approved, we can advise you of any associated costs, and book the event.

1. How do I apply for employment?: You can apply to the Parks & Recreation Department via the City's Employment Center.

2. How do I rent a park shelter?: You can rent a park shelter on our website with a credit card, or by calling the Recreation Center (208) 612-8580 and paying over the phone with a credit card, or in person at the Recreation Center at 520 Memorial Dr.

As of October 1, 2021 most* of the shelters rent for $110.00 (plus tax) per day.

5. How do I register for a class?: You can register for most classes on our website, over the phone, or in person at the facility which is offering the class.

6. How do I rent a room at the Skyline Activity Center?: Call us at the Recreation Center (208) 612-8580 to check availability and pricing. You can rent over the phone with a credit card, or visit us at the Recreation Center 520 Memorial Dr. to rent a room at our Activity Center located at 1575 N Skyline Drive.

7. How do I get my child on a team if I don't want to form a team myself?: We at Parks & Recreation do our best to try to find a spot for every child on a team, but we sometimes do not have enough coaches who volunteer to be able to place every child. We strongly encourage parents to try and form a team of their own with their child, neighborhood kids, classmates, or church members. It is parental volunteering that enables all leagues in Idaho Falls to run, whether through our department or other departments in the town.

8. How do I get the city rate discount status?: You must be a resident of the City of Idaho Falls. You can show proof of residency by showing a copy of your City utility bill at the Recreation Center, Golf Courses, or the Aquatic Center. We will then make you account in our system and flag you as a resident so that you get a reduced fee.

9. How do I find out about hanging banners and the Banner Program?: As of 2020, the Banner program has been suspended. For further inquiries please contact the Park's Office: 208-612-8479
