At 4:50 PM on Monday, August 27th, Idaho Falls Police officers were responding to the area of 150 Shoup Avenue for a suicidal woman. While officers were checking the area, Idaho Falls Public Safety Dispatch received a second call about a woman that was leaning on the outside of the railroad bridge near the Marriott Residence Inn on Broadway Avenue.
Officers arrived to the area and found an adult woman standing on the outside of the guard rail over the river. Officers talked with the woman, who appeared she might fall into the river.
The officers were able to get close to her and grab her, preventing her from falling into the river. She was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
