On Wednesday, August 1, Knife River will close the intersection of S Boulevard and Elm Street for approximately one month.
The new roundabout project requires a full closure to expedite and facilitate work that cannot be completed with traffic in the work zone.
We understand this will be an inconvenience to those who frequently use the intersection. Access to the Common Cents store will remain in place for vehicles approaching on S Boulevard from both the north and the south. The YMCA and other businesses in the area will also be accessible. Community members should plan to use alternate routes for other travel needs in the area.
We appreciate the community’s patience as we work toward the completion of this important project. We look forward to the improved travel for both vehicles and pedestrians that this project will provide upon completion.
