[ARCHIVED] Higbee Structure Fire - Nov. 2, 2017

Higbee Fire_IFFDOn Nov. 2, 2017 at 4:54 AM, the Idaho Falls Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on the 300 block of N. Higbee.

Ladder 1, engine 2, engine 4, ambulance 1, ambulance 6 and a Battalion Chief responded.

Upon arrival, crews found a single-wide trailer with heavy smoke coming from the trailer. Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire, extinguishing the area around a water heater externally. They then made entry into the trailer to extinguish the fire in the bathroom area. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the remaining areas of the home.

Crews then began salvage and overhaul on the fire and secured utilities.

The male occupant was able to exit the structure without injury. There were no other injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The damage is estimated at $20,000.  The cause of the fire is under investigation. Higbee Trailer Fire, IFFD  ###
