[ARCHIVED] River Walk Electrical Project Begins this Week

Idaho Falls Power (IFP) will begin an electrical and lighting project to improve the beauty and upgrade the path illumination along the west side of the River Walk later this week. The project is expected to last four to six weeks.

This project, which will extend from the Broadway Bridge north to the restrooms on River Parkway, will include the installation of underground lighting circuits, installation of new LED street light heads, installation of new poles and the removal of several old poles.

IFP crews will try to limit disruption to everyday River Walk activity. However, people should be aware that there will be some minor inconveniences to pedestrian and bicycle traffic because of construction. People are advised to be cautious when walking or biking through the project zone.

IFP expresses appreciation to residents for their patience as this project is completed.
