October is Indigenous Peoples’ Month at the Idaho Falls Zoo

Idaho Falls Zoo Logo

IDAHO FALLS -- Thanks to the generous support of Battelle Energy Alliance, the Idaho Falls Zoo will offer admission for only $0.50 to all American Indian/Alaska Natives from Oct. 1 through 16 in honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

This special admission rate is valid for all ages when you show proof of tribal affiliation or descendant status at zoo admissions during the promotional period. The rate is only valid for general admission and does not include fundraisers or special events.

The land where Idaho Falls Zoo is now located, and in fact the entire Snake River plain, is the traditional homeland of the Shoshone and Bannock Tribes. As stewards of the region for hundreds of years, we honor their care and commitment to our environment and its wildlife. It is a call to all of us to do our part to care for our homelands and to seek ways we can support and conserve local and global wildlife.

The Idaho Falls Zoo will be open only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays Oct. 1 through 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information on other zoo events in October, visitIndigenous Peoples Month IG post https://www.idahofallsidaho.gov/799/Events
