IDAHO FALLS -- Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper was elected to serve as the Second Vice President of the Association of Idaho Cities (AIC). The vote came during the 75th AIC Annual Conference in Boise held in June.

The AIC is governed by an executive committee and a board of directors with representatives from each of the organization’s six districts. As second vice president, Casper will serve on the executive committee.

In her role, Casper will help guide the direction of AIC as they work to help develop and advocate for policies that will support and strengthen Idaho Cities.

“I’m honored to receive the trust of the members of AIC to hold this leadership position ,” Casper said. “As Idaho cities face the challenges presented by unprecedented growth and rising property values, the AICboard and members will continue to inform and assist cities in smart and strategic ways. We will continue to advocate for cities at the state legislature level. We are committed to creating the best places and the best experiences for everyone who spends time in Idaho Cities.”

Prior to receiving the position of 2nd Vice President, Mayor Casper served as Third Vice President.

The Association of Idaho Cities was formed in 1947 and is a nonpartisan, nonprofit corporation organized to serve Idaho’s 199 incorporated cities.
