Idaho Falls Police arrested 29-year-old Juan L. Malagon for felony domestic battery and malicious injuring to property following a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of Sunset early Friday morning.

Malagon of Idaho Falls was also booked into the Bonneville County Jail for assault, resisting arrest, providing false information to police and multiple Bonneville and Bingham county warrants.

According to reports, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at residence in the 100 block of Sunset Drive around 12:48 a.m. The reporting party stated that Malagon punched his girlfriend in the face and shoved her into a wall and television.

The girlfriend sustained injuries to her face. The television, valued at $2,200, was broken.

Malagon and his girlfriend left prior to police arrival. Both were found in the 200 block of Wadsworth. Malagon attempted to hide from police and resisted arrest as he fought with police.

The woman was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.
