[ARCHIVED] Get Ready for Idaho Falls Zoo’s 2017 Season

AltTextIdaho Falls Zoo is excited to announce that Saturday, April 15 is the opening day for the 2017 season! In preparation for another exciting season, we need your help to tidy up the zoo grounds and prepare for what is sure to be a very busy summer.

No foolin’, on April 1, zoo staff will hold their annual Clean-up Day and invite individuals and volunteer service groups to assist with a variety of projects including cleaning, raking, and mulching to get the zoo ready to go for opening day on April 15.

Volunteers are strongly encouraged to bring their own supplies including work gloves, grass rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows. Join us at the front gate of the zoo anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on April 1 where a zoo employee will provide further instructions.

For volunteers under the age of 18, a City of Idaho Falls Volunteer Release of Liability form must be completed and signed by a legal guardian. Please bring the completed form with you and present it to zoo staff on April 1. Qualified leaders or supervisors must accompany all youth and service groups from their respective organizations at all times.

For additional information, contact Darrell Markum, General Curator at (208) 612-8419 or dmarkum@idahofallszoo.org.

Stay informed on the fun at the zoo! Follow the Idaho Falls Zoo on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, and subscribe to receive zoo notices by clicking on the Notify Me button on the homepage of the City's website.

Media Note: For more information or to schedule an interview with zoo staff, contact Public Information Officer, Kerry Hammon.
