Adult Volunteers

Zoo volunteers interact with visitors at our on-grounds exploration stations, provide presentations at schools in the fall and winter through our Zoomobile program, and help with zoo special events.

Applications are closed for 2022.
Our 2023 recruitment will take place in the spring.

Interested individuals must:
1. Complete the online application
2. Pass a City of Idaho Falls background check
3. Attend an interview with zoo staff

If accepted, you must complete all required training and other requirements to be officially enrolled in the Idaho Falls Zoo adult volunteer program..

If selected after your interview, all volunteers must attend the orientation training session. Training opportunities will be discussed after acceptance into the program.

Some volunteer roles require specific training sessions in addition to mandatory general orientation training.
