for warmth by layering your clothing. Wear comfortable clothing that
allows you to move freely. Close-fitting but not tight pants, like
sweatpants or warm-up pants, are ideal. Gloves or mittens are a
necessity! Your feet will feel best in one pair of lightweight socks or
tights. Don't forget a hat to keep your ears and head warm.
skates are available at the ice rink if you do not own skates. Skates
should be stiff enough to provide support to feet and ankles, but
flexible enough to be comfortable. The boot should be snug, with not too
much extra room.
head gear is recommended for all children under the age of 6 and all
beginner skaters. A hockey, skateboard or ski helmet (multi-sport) will
be suitable for use during beginning ice skating lessons.
